The joy of Tu Bishevat with the Gishrei Jewish Congregation

This year¢s celebration of Tu Bishevat presents us with a special opportunity. In addition to our annual expression of thanks for creation and Earth¢s renewal as we approach the spring, we will welcome as guest speaker Rabbi Andrea Cohen-Kiener, director of the Interreligious Eco-Justice Network and the spiritual leader of Congregation Pnai Or of Central Connecticut. It will also include our favorite Tu Bishevat songs and a special oneg with the symbolic fruits, nuts and drinks to which our tradition ascribes meanings associated with nature¢s renewal and our role in sustaining God¢s creation. What could be more appropriate than celebrating Earth¢s renewal.
