Journalists face extraordinary peril to report on the prevailing issues of the day. Facing a global attack on their livelihoods – and sometimes their very lives – journalists are forced to reassess the risks they take in order to report the news. Yet, there is no lens to replace human observation and first-person reporting. What challenges journalists face and how investigative reporting can survive in these dangerous times is the topic of a talk at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:30pm. Three panelists participating in the discussion are veterans of reporting from the front lines: Joe Bergantino, Amir Tibon, and Tracey Shelton.
