Adult Perspectives - Jewish Folklore, Legends, Bubbemeises

Sun 7 Feb, 3:30-5 pm. SAJ, 15 West 86th St., NY, NY, New York, 10024. Rabbi Peter Schweitzer, (212) 213-1002. Free. The City Congregation - [website][email][events]

Why is the moon smaller than the sun? How did shame destroy the Temple? What made the cow so pious? What is the tale of two brothers? Who was Elijah? Who are the 36 righteous Jews? What do we learn from Samson and the Golem? Our collective literature offers us a wealth of stories and folktales that have been passed down from generation to generation. Do these teachings make sense to us? What messages do they convey? Are the lessons worth preserving or rejecting?
