The Magical Mineral Tour is coming to take you away. We've coupled an amazing geologic experience with outdoor adventure in some of the most beautiful areas of northern New England. And we'd love for you to come along and share the ride.
The first half of the trip will include a Sunset cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee; a day of gem mining at Ruggles Mine; visits to the Basin, the Flume gorge (morning hike), and the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway for beautiful views into at least three states; swimming in Echo Lake,
Conway Lake, and wading along the Kancamagus Highway; three nights camping and all meals except Sunday night out at a restaurant.
If you plan to stay for the full week, there will also be a morning of of tubing on the Saco River and a trip into downtown North Conway before heading up to the Poland Mining Camp for the second half of the trip.
If you're coming in just for the second half, you'll be meeting us in North Conway for dinner out on Wednesday night, then we'll all travel together up to Poland Maine for our geologic adventure. We'll be visiting three mineral mines that are not open to the public. A geologist will accompany us and guide us as to where to find the best specimens. In the evening, we'll hear speakers on local mining history and on local gems (specifics TBD, but one speaker will likely be from the Smithsonian Museum!)
Early-Bird price for the week is $999M/$1049NM through May 20th. Price for July 1-4 is $485 M/ $535NM through May 20th. Price for July 4-8 is
$625M/ $675NM through May 20th. On May 21st, the prices will increase $30 to the regular trip price through June 15th. From June 16-24th an additional $50 late fee will be added.
