Claire Messud and Richard Russo Rachel Cohen will introduce Claire Messud / Robert Benton will introduce Richard Russo The Observer of London praised Claire Messud for her ability to write with “precision, humor and loveliness.” Messud’s novels include The Last Life and The Emperor’s Children. About Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Richard Russo, E. Annie Proulx wrote, “No one writing today catches the detail of life with such stunning accuracy.” Russo is the author of Straight Man, Nobody’s Fool, Empire Falls and Bridge of Sighs.

Robert Benton won Oscars for writing and directing Kramer vs. Kramer, and also wrote and directed, among others, the adaptation of Russo's Nobody's Fool, which starred Paul Newman. Benton's latest film is an adaptation of Charles Baxter's Feast of Love, who will be reading at the Poetry Center on Feb 11.

Rachel Cohen is the author of A Chance Meeting: Intertwined Lives of American Writers and Artists.
