In 1975, Garry Trudeau became the first comic strip artist to be awarded the Pulitzer Prize. Doonesbury was launched in 1970 and appears in nearly 1,400 daily and Sunday newspapers. Charles Schultz said of Trudeau that "all cartoonists admire Garry's originality. He's gone into areas that haven't been touched before." Tickets are $20; $17 for Unterberg Poetry Center members.
