Volunteer in Israel

Memorial for Rehavam Zeevi (Ghandi)

Tue 8 Oct, 9:15 am. Women In Green will plant trees in memory of our dear friend the former Minister of Tourism, Rehavam Zeev (Ghandi) who was brutally murdered by Arab terrorists. The ceremony will take place on Maaleh Har Hazetim (Ras El Amud). After the planting, we will have a guided tour of the area, starting with a visit at the overlook on Har Hazetim, which has been dedicated in his memory. A bus will leave the Inbal Hotel (formerly LaRomme), 3 Jabotinsky Street 92145 Jerusalem at 9:15am and return about 1pm. The bus fare is 30 NIS. Rsvp for bus. Jerusalem. 02-624-9887. Hike Old Rag Mountain

Hike Rocky Mountain and Brown Mountain

Sat 19 Oct, 9 am. This is a rugged 10 mile hike in the S. Shenandoah with great views. With luck, the fall foliage will be in its prime. The S. Hike White Oak Canyon

Sat 26 Oct, 9 am. This 11 mile circuit hike is in one of the most picturesque canyons in the Valley complete with 6 waterfalls and 300-400 year old Hemlocks. This circuit hike will go 2500ft up the Canyon and then 2500ft down the Canyon over not technically challenging terrain but on occasion the terrain will have very steep inclinations. Bikkur Cholim Conference: In the Shadow of God’s Wing

This half-day conference is for volunteers, members of congregational Caring Committees and individuals interested in reaching out to members of our community who are dealing with illness. The Bikkur Cholim conference will be a day of inspiration and learning, featuring a keynote speaker and workshops on a variety of topics related to caring for the sick.
