Estell Manor Park Hike and Bike & Historic Smithville Village Light Show Sun Dec 06 11:30AM 2009 RSVP on Meetup. We will meet at the Warren E. Fox Nature Center, Estell Manor Park, 109 Route 50, Mays Landing, NJ 08330, 609-645-5960 or 609-625-1897, aclink./PARKS/mainpages/estell. at 11:30.

After we finish looking around the nature center and eating lunch, we will walk the easy to navigate, flat Swamp Trail Boardwalk, which is 1.8 miles. This scenic trail has swamp, cedar forest, coastal streams and overlooks the South River. The Swamp Trail Boardwalk begins and ends at the nature center. When we return from this hike, we will borrow (the use of the bikes is free) mountain bikes and ride the Mountain Bike Trail, which is about 2 miles. When we return from the Mountain Bike Trail, we will walk the easy to navigate, flat Oak Ridge/Exercise Trail, which is 1.5 miles.
When we are finished exploring Estell Manor Park, we will drive to Historic Smithville & Village Greene, 1 North New York Road, Galloway, NJ 08205, 609-748-6160, smithvillenj.com. The other entrance address to the shopping area is: Route 9 & Moss Mill Road, Smithville, NJ 08205. Here, we will walk around the shops and watch the Holiday Light Show on the Lake, which begins at 5:30pm. The show is free. After the show, we will have dinner at Costello's Pizza & Italian Restaurant and have ice cream at Scoop's Place.
Wear sneakers, warm clothing with layers, hat, scarf and gloves. Bring a picnic lunch and drink. This is a kid friendly event.
