A hot night of salsa dancing in the Hipp Lower Level begins at 8:15 pm for ONLY $5 at the door. A salsa dancing class will be taught by Gainesville's premier Latin dance studio, Baila Caliente.
At 9:15 pm, DJ Elio Piedra brings the party when floor opens up for a night of picante salsa dancing FREE and open to the public! Elio is a DJ with live beats so people can move with the rhythm of his live percussion. Let's spice up the Hippodrome with our salsa skills.

Yari is an instructor at the Puerto Rico based Y Entonces Tango, where she teaches beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of tango. She travels extensively and is a highly sought-after dancer. She leads and follows with power, grace, and incredible dynamics.
Alper is a Computer Science professor at the University of Florida, where he also serves as the advisor and main instructor of the UF Argentine Tango Club. Alper is a highly sought-after leader in marathons and festivals across the US, Candada, and Europe. He approaches tango teaching like a fun puzzle to be solved.
The class will be in lieu of our regular tango practica.

Explore galleries set-into-motion as performers dance art “off the wall." In sinew, kinetic shape and space, choreography and live performance will bring visual art and the body into captivating dialogue. Drop-in or pick up a schedule and map.
Simultaneous performances by students and special guests offer front-row experiences throughout the afternoon; and talk-backs activate reflection and conversation.
Also featured are excerpts from José Limón’s “The Traitor,” the singular performance of a Zaouli mask (Cote d’Ivoire), and an Afro-Brazilian Samba Reggae culminating in a dance party for all.
