Fri 4 Mar, 7:30-9:30 pm. Classical ethical dilemmas, like “The Overcrowded Lifeboat” and “Sophie’s Choice”, and “Who Get’s the Heart Transplant?” inspire healthy intellectual debate. But for the most part they remain abstract questions. What about real, everyday situations that truly demand our actions, our decisions, or our silence? In our personal relationships, whether in our family and at work, how do we navigate between right and wrong when there aren’t necessarily straight-forward answers? In the age of the Internet and data-warehousing, what new challenges do we face between privacy and truth-telling? If you have a timely example of an ethical situation that you’d like help on thinking about, please contact Rabbi Schweitzer so that we can put it on a list of questions to e.
