Thu 2 May, 7:30-8:30 pm. We will be teaching a Balboa Series in the month of May for the intermediate lessons for the GSD swing dancing at the Rosa B on Thursdays.
This will be a 5 week beginner level Balboa Series (both pure Balboa and Bal-Swing).
Please no drop-ins unless this will be a refresher. If you need to miss a class during this series please discuss with the instructors.
No partner necessary as we will rotate during class.
Balboa is a smoother flow dance style compared to Lindyhop. For the most optimal Balboa dancing, we recommend wearing shoes that slide or are smooth on the bottom.

Sun 5 May, 2-5 pm. Announcing a wonderful celebration of life for Al Rogers, Dance Angel and friend to every dancer he ever met. Let us make this a yearly event.
May 5 from 2 to 5 pm will be the first annual Al Rogers Memorial Dance, to be held at the beautiful Matheson History Museum.
Wind that Shakes the Barley will play the tunes for both contra and English country dances, called by JoLaine, Randy Thorp, and Annette Merritt.

Elio is a Musician, Drummer, Entertainer, Singer, Arranger, Composer, and voting member at LARAS & NARAS Academy at Professional Musician! Elio was born in Cuba and began his musical career at the age of 10 at the Arts Conservatory Raul Sanchez. At fifteen, he gained entry into the National Conservatory of Music Carlos Hidalgo where he continued to hone his craft, even touring Cuba with the symphony orchestra.
Elio immigrated to the United States at the age of 20 and began playing with many notable musicians in Miami. He eventually relocated to Gainesville, FL, where he lives with his wife.
