The small creatures comprising the vast majority of Florida's fauna are frequently overlooked despite their often fascinating natural histories and important ecological roles. This program will introduce a select few of these fascinating animals.

Join Alachua Conservation Trust for a guided hike through the various habitats of Tuscawilla Prairie and fine tune your identification skills.
About our leader:
Susan Marynowski (M.S.) grew up in north Florida. She holds degrees from UF in fine arts and wildlife ecology, with an emphasis in public education. Susan has pursued a passionate interest in native plants and has been a student and practitioner of herbal medicine for 20+ years, having studied with a number of nationally known herbalists.

We start off with an Irish Dance group from Hogan's School of Irish Dance at 10:00 AM.
Then the Dazzlers from UF will Dazzle us with a performance. Following their performance the Dazzlers will assist with a children's Fall Craft inside the library.
At 11:30 a group from the Gainesville International Folk Dancers will perform. At 12:00 PM we will have the Southern Rhythm Cloggers, who have twice been Clogger National Champions! Want to learn tango? Come join the UF Argentine Tango Club for a free beginner tango class. Feel free to join even if you have never danced tango before, there are teachers for whatever level you might be.
Who: Everyone can come. The beginner class is geared for people who have never danced before or who want to practice the basics. The intermediate class is for those who have been to at least some classes and is for you if you feel ready and confident enough to learn some new steps. The advanced class is for those who have been dancing for a long while now and will feature more complicated steps, so ask a teacher to make sure you are experienced enough for this level.

Who: Everyone can come. The beginner class is geared for people who have never danced before or who want to practice the basics. The intermediate class is for those who have been to at least some classes and is for you if you feel ready and confident enough to learn some new steps. The advanced class is for those who have been dancing for a long while now and will feature more complicated steps, so ask a teacher to make sure you are experienced enough for this level.

Encompassing over 900 acres, the preserve protects several miles of riverfront and riparian forest along the upper Santa Fe River - important land for regional water resources and wildlife such as the endangered Oval Pigtoe.
The Santa Fe River Preserve is a collaborative project between Alachua Conservation Trust and Alachua County, and is part of a much larger effort to protect the entire Santa Fe River and ensure that it stays a complete and viable conservation corridor - for water, wildlife, and recreation.
Please join us as we celebrate the culmination of this work, and open the new trails and the preserve to the public.

Want to learn tango? Come join the UF Argentine Tango Club for a free beginner tango class. Feel free to join even if you have never danced tango before, there are teachers for whatever level you might be.
Who: Everyone can come. The beginner class is geared for people who have never danced before or who want to practice the basics. The intermediate class is for those who have been to at least some classes and is for you if you feel ready and confident enough to learn some new steps. The advanced class is for those who have been dancing for a long while now and will feature more complicated steps, so ask a teacher to make sure you are experienced enough for this level.

The PALS Thrive program is a suicide, violence prevention and anti-bullying program that was created in 2000 by two courageous local students in response to the Columbine shooting. Their idea of No One Sits Alone has grown into what we now call PALS Thrive; a program supported by graduate students in psychology and counseling, supervised by licensed professionals.
