Tue 23 Jan, 5 pm. Come to this important environmental meeting. Invite your friends.
Do you want Alachua County to look like Broward County? Now is your chance to choose.
After seeing this post, I created this event to let you know of this meeting. Our county commissioner Mike Byerly says:
If you have only enough time or motivation to attend one government meeting in 2018 in defense of our environment, make it Jan. 23rd, 5pm, at the County Administration building. The stakes are high, and turnout could make the difference.
Alachua County is a "charter county." That means we have a charter, sort of like a constitution, that is the ultimate law on certain matters, and it can only be changed by popular vote. Then, for 18 years, nothing happened. Finally, after several year ... Alachua County Administration Building, Gainesville, 32601. Go Green Nation - [more][website][events]

The Kennedys, both East Coast natives, met in Austin, Texas, joined forces with Nanci Griffith's Blue Moon Orchestra for a couple of years, and set out on a road that, for two decades, has led them not only west but all over the US and the UK many times. They have spent over twenty years as both as a band and a married couple. In 2015 they both released well received solo CDs, as well as "West," an instant classic Kennedys duo set that seamlessly weaves their influences over the last two decades; Buddy Holly style roots, the tuneful cadences of the Everly Brothers, and the ringing 12-string jangle of the early Byrds, interspersed with darker moments that recall British folk rock a la Fairport Convention.

What is ITS?
Improvisational Tribal Style (ITS) belly dance, or ITS, is a combination-based form of Improvisational Tribal Fusion dance. It relies on a shared vocabulary of movements, each initiated by a distinct cue movement. The leader initiates the cue movement, then a short, choreographed combination, or Combo, is performed. These Combos can be done in any order, and none of the dancers know ahead of time what moves the leader will cue next. No prior bellydance experience is required for this work ...
